• BA Degree – Dakota Wesleyan University
• Certified South Dakota Firefighter
• Defensive Driver Instructor – National Safety Council
• Forklift Instructor
• OSHA 30 hour General Industry Training Course
• OSHA 30 hour Construction Training Course
• OSHA Authorized Trainer for Construction 
• Fall Protection Competent Person - SD Safety Council

Dan has been in Emergency Services for over 30 years serving as a Chief Deputy Sheriff, Firefighter/EMT and as the South Dakota State Fire Marshal. He held instructor certifications in firearms, self defense, Certified Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician and CPR. He is the former Safety Director for a multi-state electrical contractor and currently is a Safety Consultant and certified instructor for Safety Benefits, Inc. Dan is a graduate of both OSHA Construction and General Industry Safety & Health Training Courses and is a Certified Instructor for the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course.
